Contribution Agreement
1-Licence of Copyright and Consideration

1.1 In consideration of the publication of my CFM Discussion Paper (the Discussion Paper) detailed above, I grant to the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) a non-exclusive licence to publish, reproduce, use, distribute, exploit and further license use of the Discussion Paper, including the abstract, in any media, whether print, electronic, digital, or otherwise throughout the world for the full period of copyright and any renewal thereof. I will retain full responsibility for administering subsidiary rights agreements with third parties. The Discussion Paper is deemed to include all material submitted for publication, and includes the text, abstract, figures, tables, author contact details and all supplementary material accompanying the Discussion Paper. I understand that as the Author (or the Co-Author) of the Discussion Paper, copyright in the Discussion Paper remains with me (or with me and my co-author/s if the Paper is co-authored unless otherwise agreed between me and my co-author/s).

1.2 While I have granted to you the rights set out above I understand that I may include the Discussion paper in a volume of my own collected work without seeking permission from you.

2- Author’s warranties and indemnity

2.1 This Discussion Paper is an original work;

2.2 I am the owner (or the co-owner) of copyright in the whole and every part of the Discussion Paper, or am duly authorised by the owner(s) to grant under this agreement a licence to hold and disseminate copies of the Discussion Paper; and I have obtained all permissions for the reproduction in all media, print, electronic, digital and otherwise as part of the Discussion Paper of any copyright works, including artistic works, eg: photographs, diagrams, maps etc. in which copyright is not owned by me and that I have paid any relevant fees for these permissions. I further warrant that I and my co-authors have obtained all necessary permissions and licenses for all datasets used in the Discussion Paper and that I am aware that not to have so done is illegal and could jeopardise the licensing of data to LSE in the future. I have correctly referenced all data used in the Discussion Paper.

2.3 I have acknowledged the source of any material included in the Discussion Paper which has not been authored by me;

2.4 the Discussion Paper contains no violation of any existing copyright or other third party right or any material of an obscene, indecent, libellous or otherwise unlawful nature and that to the best of my knowledge the Discussion Paper does not infringe the intellectual property of any third party nor will its publication cause a breach of any confidence or any other right of any person and that any recipe, formula or instruction contained in it cannot and will not cause any illness or damage to the user or any third party;

2.5 In the case of a multi-authored Discussion Paper I have obtained authorization to enter into this Agreement on their behalf and that all co-authors have read and agreed the terms of this Agreement;

2.6 I will indemnify and keep indemnified LSE against all and any claims and expenses (including legal costs and expenses) arising from any breach of the warranties set out in this clause 2 and the other warranties on your behalf in this Agreement. I agree to comply and co-operate with the LSE in order to deal with any such claim.

3- LSE’s Rights and Responsibilities

3.1 May publish, reproduce, use, distribute, exploit and further license use copies of the Discussion Paper worldwide, in any media as set out in clause 1, including on an open access basis.

3.2 May electronically store, translate, copy, or re-arrange the Discussion Paper to ensure its future preservation and accessibility, unless notified by the Author that specific restrictions apply.

3.3 May incorporate metadata or documentation for the e-print into publicly accessible catalogues. A citation to the Discussion Paper will always remain visible.

3.4 Shall retain the right to remove the Discussion Paper for professional or administrative reasons, or if it is found to violate the legal rights of any person.

3.5 Shall not be liable to the Author or any other rights holders in the event of breach by third parties of intellectual property rights or any other right in the Discussion Paper.

3.6 Shall not be under any obligation to take legal action on behalf of the Author or other rights holders in the event of breach of intellectual property rights or any other right in the Discussion Paper.

3.8 LSE and/or the CFM is under no obligation to publish the Discussion Paper and the final decision of publishing or otherwise using the Discussion Paper remains exclusively with LSE and/or the CFM.

4- Software

4.1 Copyright in any additional data, software, user guides and documentation to assist users in using the Discussion Paper shall belong to LSE.

4.2 While every care will be taken to preserve the physical integrity of the e-print, LSE shall incur no liability for the loss of or damage to the e-print or associated data.

5- Miscellaneous
